ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - For people facing Alzheimer's disease, every day is a demonstration of love, patience, strength and endurance - making every day seem as though it's never ending. On June 21, 2013, the longest day of the year, teams across the world will participate in sunrise-to-sunset relay endurance events to honor people with Alzheimer's and their families. The Longest Day® is the day to honor the strength, endurance and passion of those facing Alzheimer's every day.

In order to support local families battling the Alzheimer's epidemic, the Alzheimer's Association joined forces with with KSDK NewsChannel 5 and WIL 92.3, to host a sunrise-to-sunset Caregiver Phone Bank on the Longest Day.

Alzheimer's Association staff and volunteers will be manning a phone bank to answer questions, provide information and give support to the countless caregivers who face this disease so bravely every day.

Additional information about The Longest Day is available in a special section on KSDK.COM.
