(KSDK) -- Breakfast doesn't have to be bland.
Kim Warkenthien, from the Missour Egg Council, stopped by Show Me St. Louis to prepare a breakfast pizza.
Eggs-cellent Breakfast Pizza
1 (12") pre-baked pizza crust
¼ cup milk
Salt and pepper to taste
1 ½ cups shredded Cheddar cheese
Additional pizza toppings, as desired: fully cooked and crumbled sausage or bacon, shredded hash brown potatoes, sliced mushrooms, diced red bell pepper, chopped green onion
Preheat oven to 400° F.
Place pizza crust on pizza pan or stone. For crispier crust, bake 5 minutes before topping.
Whisk eggs and milk in microwave-safe glass bowl, spritzed with non-stick cooking spray. Season with salt and pepper. Microwave on HIGH 3 minutes; stir. Rotate bowl. Microwave an additional 1 to 3 minutes; until set but still moist*. Stir. Spoon cooked egg mixture evenly over crust. Top with your choice of additional ingredients. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
*Microwave ovens vary. Adjust cook time as necessary, checking after small increments to avoid overcooking.
