An award winning local artist is bringing regional landscapes with a modern flare to life in his upcoming solo exhibition at Kodner Gallery. Bryan Haynes uses his own backyard as a backdrop for some of his work.

"Where we live is a beautiful spot so just walking outside and being in the woods a lot of inspiration comes from that," explained Haynes.

"Narrative Landscapes: New Works by Bryan Haynes" opens Friday, October 5, at Kodner Gallery. The cocktail reception with Haynes is from 6:30pm-10pm and it's free to attend. There will be around 75 pieces of work on display. A portion of the proceeds raised Friday will go to Ranken Jordan Hospital.

For more information about the exhibit call 314-993-4477 or visit www.kodnergallery.com.  The exhibit runs through October 31.
