Baking with the St. Louis Chef of the Year

Chef Casey Shiller has spent time baking in kitchens around the United States, but the St. Louis native believes his hometown is one of the most under-rated food cities in the world.

"I've been a foodie all my life," said Casey Shiller, Certified Executive Pastry Chef.

The American Culinary Federation's Chefs de Cuisine Association of St. Louis named Shiller the 2013 Chef of the Year.

"St. Louis is really one of the best food towns and I'm so honored to be recognized by my peers as one of the best in the city," explained Shiller.

Chef Shiller has spent eight years teaching culinary enthusiasts at St. Louis Community College Forest Park.

"I come from a long line of college educators in the family. It just fit very very naturally and I'll tell you there's no better feeling then being able to give back to the future of our industry," said Shiller.

The American Culinary Federation named Shiller the National Chef Educator of the Year.
