Knitting is a hobby for most people, but The Greater St. Louis Knitters Guild has turned the past time into an opportunity to do some good.
"That's really a good feeling to know that you're doing something that's going to benefit someone else and it's not an expensive project or it doesn't require a lot, but in the end it's something that somebody can use," explained Sherry Gorman, St. Louis Knitters Guild.
The non-profit formed so knitters could enjoy their hobby together. That has grown into a way to help the community.
"The thought was that we wanted to be able to improve our skills and to use our skills for the benefit of others," said Mary Dale-Bannister, St. Louis Knitters Guild.
The guild encourages inexperienced knitters to join the group. Members range in age from 13 years old to to over 90.
