Over the river and through the woods, Tim Woodson's pirate fantasy sets sail. "I've been a commercial artist for 35 years and an avid boater and through I needed to build something special."
That "something special" would be The Gypsy Rose. At first, his random idea to build a pirate ship on the Mississippi River sounded a little strange to his significant other. "I said, you're going to build a what?"
And with her support, Woodson bought his canvas. But with no experience building ships, he enlisted the help of Bill Burkholder. "He came up and said he was going to build a pirate ship on top of this cabin cruiser. And I thought he was crazy. And I still think he is."
Just a few months later, The Gypsy Rose is in full gear, hosting parties and tours.
