ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - St. Louis Police have identified a parent of the five-year-old boy who walked into a south city supermarket with his dog in tow just after 11:00 p.m. Thursday night.
Authorities say the rain soaked-child told officers his name was Noah and his dog's name was King and they were both hungry. Employees told police the boy and the dog walked into the Schnucks market on Loughborough at Interstate 55.
Authorities were able to satisfy the child and his dog with something to eat as well as getting them dry and safe until they were able to determine where the boy lives.
It was nearly eight hours later that police were able to identify the child's parent and it's believed investigators will be interviewing them sometime today.
Tthe little boy lived just blocks away from the Schnucks store where he walked in on Loughborough around 11:15 p.m. Thursday.
Anyone with any information on the child or any information to assist police, they are urged to call the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
