Lambert-St. Louis International Airport
St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - Southwest Airlines will begin a new non-stop service between Lambert-St. Louis International Airport and Washington D.C.'s Reagan National Airport this fall.
According to Jeff Lea, a Lambert Airport spokesman, said Southwest will provide two daily roundtrips between Reagan National Airport (DCA) and Lambert Airport (STL). Ticket sales will begin in late July or early August, with service expected to start in October.
Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge, Director of Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, said more people in the St. Louis area are flying to D.C. than there are non-stop seats.
At present, Southwest Airlines provides 94 daily flights to 33 destinations, Lambert Airport's largest air carrier.
In addition to the flight's to our nation's capital, Southwest announced two new non-stop flights daily between St. Louis and San Antonio beginning August 12.
