Carole Moody dies after battling pancreatic cancer

St. Louis (KSDK) -- The former president of the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission died Tuesday after battling pancreatic cancer.

Carole Moody retired as president of the CVC in 2006 after 30 years.

Moody established the "Explore St. Louis" brand that is still used to promote the city.

During her time at the CVC, Moody was appointed St. Louis' first Director of Tourism. She also served as Assistant Director of Convention Sales, Director of Marketing and Senior Vice President of Marketing prior to becoming the organization's president.

A celebration of Moody's life will take place on Friday, August 10 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Church of the Immacolata, 8900 Clayton Road in St. Louis.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 11 at 11 :00 a.m. at the Church of the Immacolata.
