Lambert-St. Louis International Airport
St. Louis (KSDK) -- The National Weather Service believes Lambert Airport is storm ready.
Lambert Airport volunteered for the nationwide StormReady preparedness program after being hit by a tornado in April 2011.
The program helps communities develop plans to handle local severe weather and flooding threats. It also evaluates weather forecast systems, public communication procedures and facility signage for severe weather shelters.
Airports in Indianapolis, San Francisco and Detroit are also designated as StormReady.
