It appears online retailer Amazon is having a holly jolly Christmas. The company announced 2012 holiday sales were the biggest ever, with consumers purchasing 306 items a second on their peak day.
Amazon says on Cyber Monday, customers ordered 26.5 million items, a new record. The Kindle continues to dominate the overall best-sellers on the site, led by the Kindle Fire HD tablet. Also, Amazon set another record on Christmas Day for digital downloads from the online retailer.
Among the other top sellers in tech on Amazon:
TVs: VIZIO 60-inch Razor LED Smart HDTV; Panasonic VIERA 55-Inch 3D Plasma TV; and Samsung 32-Inch LED HDTV
Cameras: Canon PowerShot A2300 Digital Camera; Canon PowerShot S100 Digital Camera; and Canon 55-250mm Telephoto Zoom Lens
Video Games: Just Dance 4; Call of Duty: Black Ops II; and Assassin's Creed III
The company also revealed it finished as the top holiday retailer in customer satisfaction for the 8th straight year, based on research firm ForeSee's Holiday E-Retail Satisfaction Index.
