Report: Cirque du Soleil to lay off 400-600 employees

QUEBEC (CNN) - Cirque Du Soleil is reportedly preparing to layoff potentially hundreds of employees.

News reports in Quebec claim the entertainment troupe could slash between 400 and 600 workers, mostly in its Montreal Office.

About 2,000 of the company's employees work at the head office.

A spokesperson for Cirque Du Soliel would not confirm or deny the reports, telling the Montreal Gazette it is reviewing its operation costs.
