JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KSDK) - The Missouri Labor Department's Division of Employment Security (DES) is extending hours for its regional claims centers to accommodate the increased unemployment claims due to the federal government shutdown.
Beginning Monday, October 7, all regional claims centers will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Centers will also be open on Columbus Day (October 14) to take calls and process unemployment claims.
The labor department warns that initial claimants may experience longer wait times or get busy signals.
