Denver, CO (Sports Network) - Denver Broncos linebacker Jason Hunter was reportedly stabbed and taken to a Detroit area hospital on Wednesday.
The Denver Post reported that Hunter was stabbed, but didn't have any additional information.
"We are aware of the reports regarding Jason Hunter and are currently in the process of gathering information and reviewing the facts," the Broncos said in a statement. "Our thoughts are with Jason, and we are hopeful he makes a quick recovery.
"Out of respect for his privacy, we will not have additional comment on the matter at this time."
Hunter played in 16 games (12 starts) for Denver last season, recording 61 tackles, three sacks and an interception.
The 6-foot-4, 271-pounder has compiled 127 tackles and 10 sacks over five seasons with the Packers, Lions and Broncos.
The news comes just a few days after ex-Bronco Brandon Marshall was stabbed by his wife.
