Joe Garagiola and Yogi Berra
St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - They were both professional baseball catchers. They are both Italian. And they were once neighbors.
And on this particular weekend, Joe Garagiola and Yogi Berra came back to their old stomping grounds on The Hill neighborhood.
It was a day of celebration and The Hill was absolutely packed. And why not? Two of the more famous baseball players of the last 60 years grew up just 90 feet from each other.
Yogi Berra played for the New York Yankees, went to 15 All Star Games and 14 World Series, and was a 3-time Major League MVP. Joe Garagiola played for the Cardinals, coming up big in the 1946 World Series and later became a legendary baseball broadcaster for NBC.
