Tyrone Adams, Cara Moss charged with distributing heroin, causing death

East St. Louis, IL (KSDK) - Two Alton, Illinois residents were indicted Friday in U.S. District Court in East St. Louis for drug distribution which caused the death of a 23-year-old man.

Tyrone L. Adams, 33, and Cara L. Moss, 26, are held without bond for distributing heroin which caused the death of Leonard O. Hormann, III.

Adams and Moss have been charged in a three count indictment.

The first count claims they distributed heroin to Hormann on August 20, 2012. If convicted, they face up to life in prison.

The second count alleges Adams and Moss maintained drug-involved premises on Powhattan Street between June 1, 2012 and September 5, 2012. If convicted, they face up to 20 years in prison.

The third count charges Adams with distribution of heroin within 1000 feet of a school between June 2012 and September 2012. He faces up to 40 years in prison if convicted on this count.

Adams and Moss are scheduled to go to trial on January 22, 2013.
