Maintenance worker robbed at gunpoint in north St. Louis

St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - A maintenance worker was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon outside a north St. Louis apartment building, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said.

The robbery took place before 12:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of Obear Avenue in the College Hill neighborhood. Police found the 49-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim told police two men confronted him in the parking lot and robbed him at gunpoint. A shootout occurred a short time later, leading to the maintenance man being shot.

Police said the victim was taken to a hospital for a non-life threatening injury. The suspects remain on the loose.
