ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - One person was shot in the leg Friday night near the Riverview Gardens High School campus in the Bellefontaine Neighbors neighborhood, the St. Louis County Police Department said.

According to Officer Randy Vaughn, a police spokesman, the shooting happened before 7:05 p.m. at the intersection of Shipley Drive and Lilac Avenue.

Vaughn said disturbances had been reported at the high school during the Riverview Gardens-Hazelwood East basketball game. Police believe a group left the game and went to the intersection where the shooting took place.

The shooting victim was treated for a non-life threatening injury.

A motive and suspect have not been identified.
