ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - A week after construction began at Ballpark Village, a new tenant has been named for the 10-acre site across from Busch Stadium.
Professional Bull Riders, Inc. will open PBR St. Louis: A Cowboy Bar in April 2014, when the rest of the Phase 1 of the Ballpark Village complex opens.
The first PBR location opened its doors in 2008 at the Power & Light District in Kansas City, Missouri. PBR launched other venues in Las Vegas, Baltimore, Houston, Hampton, Philadelphia and Louisville. PBR has promised the Cardinals and Cordish Companies, Ballpark Village partners, this will be their only venue in the St. Louis region.
PBR St. Louis: A Cowboy Bar will combine "cowboy cool" and "urban chic," according to a news release, and feature a large dance floor, a soft-seating lounge area, private outdoor balconies, multiple bars, and a large mechanical bull. The southwestern inspired menu will also feature an expansive beer and bourbon list.
PBR St. Louis will host live country music performances throughout the year, starring national acts like Jason Aldean, Justin Moore and Gretchen Wilson.
The first phase of Ballpark Village also includes things like Cardinals Nation, a two-story restaurant, Cardinals Hall of Fame Museum, and a deck that looks into Busch Stadium, along with the Budweiser Brewhouse.
