ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Catholics in St. Louis are buzzing about the upcoming conclave. But they may be most excited at Holy Infant in Ballwin, the parish where Cardinal Timothy Dolan grew up.
Cardinal Dolan was the topic of conversation at the Lenten Fish Fry Friday night. He went to grade school at Holy Infant School and worked odd end jobs at the church while he studied at the seminary.
"Just to think that someone I've known for 48 years who walked our hallways, who was in our convent and church, is one of the people who could be in the running but who is also getting to choose the next Pope," said Sister Rosario Delaney, principal of Holy Infant School.
The alumni connection is also encouraging kids to be more inquisitive Catholics. Sister Rosario said students at every grade level are learning about the papal process.
