MOUNT OLIVE, Ill. (KSDK) - Residents here aren't sure whether they are the winners, or the losers, of this contest.
Whatever the case, they received top honors during Sunday's snow event. National Weather Service officials say the Mount Olive area received over 16 inches of snow.
Steve Curtis' house is along Route 138 east of Interstate 55 right at the city limit sign. Monday morning he could be seen shoveling a single path from the back door to the garage for him and his wife and their dog. He had already shoveled a similar path to the shed next door.
Curtis said this is a far cry from playing golf last weekend, and he's hoping most snow designation will also qualify them for quickest meltdown.
