ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - A south St. Louis couple walking to a convenience store around 1:30 a.m. was victimized twice by a trio of suspects who remain on the run.

Police say the 39 year old woman and her 30 year old friend were walking to a 7-11 store near Giles and Fairview when they were robbed by two men hiding in a gangway in the 3400 block of Grace.

After turning over their cell phones, cash, and other property, one of the two suspects asked where the couple lived. The woman told the robber who then left while the other suspect held the couple at bay.

Not long after, the man who left the couple and a third person entered the victim's home on Fairview and stole a flat screen computer monitor.

A 34-year-old roommate of the victims was awakened and called police. He said he saw a man look into his bedroom.

Meanwhile the suspect who stayed with the victims near the 7-11 fled, allowing the victims to return home, just in time to see the woman's car being driven off with the computer monitor inside.

Police recovered the abandoned car in an alley behind the 4600 block of Nebraska around 5:30 a.m. Friday and were planning to process the vehicle for evidence.

No names released and no injuries reported in the investigation which is continuing.
