DECATUR, Ill. (AP) - Central Illinois authorities say a man is in custody after a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a 17-month-old boy.
The 24-year-old was arrested Sunday and is being held on a preliminary felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident. Macon County authorities did not release his name, but said they'd offer more details on Monday.
The toddler, Zyonne Cooper, died Thursday after he was hit by a Ford Explorer when the boy wandered into a street just after midnight. Police say the driver drove off. The car was found Sunday and has been impounded.
