CLAYTON, Mo. (KSDK) - St. Louis County police say they have arrested two people for allegedly breaking into vehicles in the south county area early Thursday.

Officers responded to two separate locations, although police cannot connect the crimes at this point in their investigation.  Both incidents were reported just after 1 a.m.

The first incident was at 1:19 a.m. in Lemay where three vehicles were vandalized at Orient and Wachtel, which is in the area of Lemay Ferry and Bayless.

A 27-year-old man, identified by police as a Saint Louis University student was taken into custody.

About the same time as that case was unfolding, police went to the 5000 block of Clayridge near Interstate 55 and Butler Hill Road and found more vehicles broken into and took a teenager into custody.

Authorities say the 16-year-old boy was injured while trying to flee from police, cutting his arm in the process.  he was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

No names have been released in the ongoing investigation.
