GLEN CARBON, Ill. (KSDK) - A 54-year-old Glen Carbon man received eight years and one month in prison recently after pleading guilty to child pornography related charges, according to U.S. Attorney for Southern District of Illinois Stephen Wigginton.
Arlynn Georgeson pleaded guilty in June to receiving and possessing child pornography. He received 97 months for each count and five years supervised release for each count, which will both run concurrently. He also must pay a special assessment of $200.
According to Wigginton, during a Sept. 2011 undercover investigation, two FBI agents in different states downloaded images of minors engaged in sexual activity from a computer connected to Georgeson. Many of the images and videos obtained involved children between the ages of 2 and 12 doing sexual acts.
Georgeson said he obtained the images through a file sharing program.
As a part of his sentence, he must pay $1,000 to one of the victims included in the photos and he must register as a sex offender upon his release.
