Velda City, Mo (KSDK) -- Police found a cache of stolen goods in a Velda City home.

Velda City Police Chief Dan Paulino said a man got into a fight with his brother in the 7000 block of Lexington Avenue.

Police responded around 11:30 p.m. Thursday and found the victim bleeding outside.  The suspect was still inside the house.

Police thought the victim had been struck with a gun, so they did not want to make entry into the house.

Eventually, the suspect came out of the home and was taken into custody. Police said another brother and his girlfriend were also inside the home and were not injured.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Police said he had been struck with a chair and not a weapon.

Police went inside the home and found goods they said were from a recent burglary spree in Velda City and Beverly Hills. Police found 15 to 20 St. Louis Cardinals baseball hats, cable boxes, an AC unit, CDs, DVDs, four to five lawn mowers, a TV and power tools.

Chief Paulino said they believe the items had been taken over several years and could be from residences and businesses. Investigators will inventory the items to see which stolen goods may be associated with which crime.
