East Carondelet, Ill (KSDK) -- An eight-year-old child heard a loud boom and found a duffle bag containing a mobile meth lab.

Sheriff Mearl Justus said the owner of a home on Old State Route 3 in East Carondelet allowed family members to stay at her house on May 23.  Her child was outside playing behind the home, heard the noise and found the bag in the woods.

The St. Clair County Drug Tactical Unit and Illinois State Police Meth Response Team responded to the home and was able to contain the meth lab.

Investigators searched the home of Justin Cruse who was suspected of making the meth.  They found items at the home used to manufacture the drug and took Cruse into custody.  He was on parole for manufacturing meth at the time of his arrest.

The St. Clair County State's Attorney's Office charged Cruse with participation in meth manufacturing, unlawful possession of meth manufacturing materials and unlawful possession of meth, according to Sheriff Justus.

Investigators took several other people into custody suspected of helping to make the meth.  Alexis McGeehan, David Wilkerson, Terry Grissom and Charles Grissom all face the same charges.

Wilkerson has not been taken into custody and Sheriff Justus said there is a warrant for his arrest.
