Police seek gunman in fatal shooting on Dr. Martin Luther King Drive

St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - Homicide detectives with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department are searching for evidence in a fatal shooting early Tuesday.

Police responded to a call for shots fire in the 5100 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Drive around 1:40 a.m. and found the victim on the ground in a gravel lot near the corner of Dr. king and Shawmut Place in north St. Louis.

The 45-year-old victim was found with a bullet wound to the head and pronounced dead at the crime scene.

Authorities have tentatively identified the dead man, but are withholding his name pending the notification of his family members.

No suspects have been identified by police, and a motive has yet to be established.
