St. Louis (KSDK) - A man who pointed a gun at officers and was killed has been identified.
Police were called to a home in the 7000 block of Mitchell for a domestic dispute.
When officers arrived, the woman brought officers inside while she retrieved personal items.
That's when 48-year-old Bobby King pointed a handgun at officers.
Police ordered King to drop the weapon, and when he didn't gunfire was exchanged.
King was shot and pronounced dead at the scene.
One officer, described as a 26-year-old who has been on the force for 4.5 years, was shot in the left arm in the tricep area. The bullet entered and exited his arm. He was transported to Barnes-Jewish Hospital for treatment, and was released overnight.
The officer has been placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure during this type of investigation.
