St. Louis County, MO (KSDK) - A special holiday enforcement program within St. Louis County will be out during the holiday to cite fireworks violations.

Using fireworks is illegal in both St. Louis County and city.

The county considers all combustibles or explosives, including sparklers and magic snakes to be fireworks.

Fines range from $50 to $1,000.

Officers will respond to the sights and sounds of fireworks discharges and will seize remaining unexploded devices.

Patrol officers will also be on the lookout for curfew violations and liquor law violations, which often contribute to accidents.
