Farmington, Mo (KSDK) -- A man convicted of rape who admitted to two additional rapes will be sent to the Sex Offender Rehabilitation and Treatment Center in Farmington.
Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster said a St. Louis County jury found Steven Whitt, Jr., 42, to be sexually violent predator.
Whitt, 42, served 10 years in prison for raping a 25-year-old woman in 2001. He admitted under oath to committing two additional rapes. While in prison, he committed dozens of conduct violations for sexual misconduct, assaults and death threats, according to Koster.
Those committed by the court as sexually violent predators go into the custody of the Missouri Department of Mental Health. They have the right to have their cases reviewed annually to determine if their mental abnormality has changed and they are no longer likely to commit further acts of sexual violence if released.
