St. Louis County, MO (KSDK) - The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office charged a 47-year-old local woman for allegedly making up a story that a person posing as a police officer attacked her.
Last week, Stacy Warren called Clayton police to report that she'd been pulled over off South Hanley Road by a man driving a dark blue Crown Victoria with flashing lights on the dashboard and a spotlight on the side.
The woman claimed the man threw her to the ground but that she then hit him in the groin with her head.
She said the hit stunned him and she was able to get back in her car and drive off.
Investigators with the Clayton Police Department discovered several inconsistencies with Warren's claim. She eventually admitted to making the story up, according to prosecutors.
Stacy Warren was charged with one count of making a false police report. She faces up to six months in St. Louis County Jail if convicted and/or a $500 fine.
