St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - The manager of an urologists group pleaded guilty Friday in federal court to mail and wire fraud for embezzling millions of dollars from that doctors group, US Attorney Richard Callahan said.

According to court documents, Dunard Morris worked as the business manager of Metropolitan Urological Specialists (MUS), a practice group of doctors, from 2006 to September 2011. Morris admitted to concealing his embezzlement by lying, misrepresenting the truth, and deceiving the doctor-shareholders.

Morris would increase his base salary from MUS several times without authorization or telling shareholders.

Dunard Morris used MUS money to purchase costly assets, including high-end jewelry, luxury automobiles, firearms, designer clothing, wine, national and international travel, and other items benefiting him and others. He also rented a luxury apartment at a cost of $5,400 per month.

Prosecutors said Morris also told the doctors he was a decorated veteran, served in the United States Marines Corps and was awarded the Navy Cross medal for extraordinary heroism, among other military honors. Morris had never been awarded the Navy Cross, and was discharged from the military for misconduct.

Morris pleaded guilty to three counts of mail and wire fraud. He faces up to 20 years in prison and/or $250,000 in fines when he's sentenced on December 14.
