Collinsville, IL (KSDK) - Illinois State Police District 11 Commander Captain Brad Parsons announced Wednesday ISP will be conducting nighttime enforcement patrols in St. Clair and Madison counties throughout the month of October.

The patrols are aimed at keeping DUI offenders off the road and officers will be on the lookout for vehicles driven unsafely, drivers with suspended or revoked driver's licenses, alcohol in open containers, drivers and passengers who are not wearing seatbelts, and drivers who may be under the influence.

Of all fatal motor vehicle accidents in Illinois, alcohol and drug impairment is a factor in over 40 percent of them.
