St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - A proposed partnership between St. Louis University and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is no longer in the works.

The proposal was sparked by the murder of former SLU Volleyball player Megan Boken in the Central West End in August.

Comptroller Darlene Green called University President Father Lawrence Biondi and asked him to consider paying for about 10 extra officers.

In a letter sent to the comptroller Monday, Father Biondi said that a partnership was unnecessary because the school has 95 security officers who patrol the campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
