Wentzville, MO (KSDK) - Two people have been charged with stealing a stainless steel stove.
Wentzville police received a phone call around 10 p.m. Tuesday night after residents in the Wilmer Valley subdivision called to say a suspicious white vehicle was driving slowly around the neighborhood with its lights turned off.
Callers said the vehicle stopped at a home under construction.
When officers responded they saw a white 1993 Ford Aerostar leaving the area. Officers followed and stopped it on westbound Interstate 70.
A Whirlpool stainless steel stove was found in the vehicle, and it was determined it had been stolen from a home in the 200 block of Wilmer Ridge Drive.
Shane B. Crossno, 38, and Amy Schroeder, 32, both of Wright City, were taken into custody and charged with burglary and stealing.
They are each held on a $10,000 cash-only bond.
