St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - The St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office charged a 25-year-old man Tuesday for allegedly taking a woman's purse and shooting her in the face in October.

According to David Marzullo, a spokesman for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred October 24 just before 5:55 a.m. in the 1600 block of S. Spring. The victim, 27, told police she was walking to her car when a man walked up, grabbed her purse and shot her.

The woman was rushed to a local hospital where she remains in critical condition.
