Michael Burgund convicted of sexually assaulting two toddlers

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (KSDK) - An Alton, Illinois man was convicted Monday of six counts of predatory criminal sexual assault.

Michael S. Burgund was charged on April 5, 2011 after walking into the Alton Police Department and admitting to the crimes.

Burgund sexually assaulted female family members ages 2-years-old and 3-years-old beginning in June 2008.

Jurors were showed Bugund's videotaped confessions; though on Friday he denied all allegations.

The jury deliberated for six hours before finding Burgund guilty.

He will be sentenced in six to eight weeks.
