Roy Gunn sentenced for arson

ELSBERRY, Mo. (KSDK) - An Elsberry, Missouri man has been sentenced on arson charges.

Roy William Gunn, 32, was sentenced Wednesday to eight years in prison for attempting arson to four buildings in Elsberry.

Court documents state Gunn attempted to set fire on July 19, 2011 to a building at 309 South 3rd Street, owned by the City of Elsberry; another building owned by the city located at 306 South 3rd Street on August 30, 2011; Stu's Countryside Convenience Store at 990 Missouri State Highway B on August 31, 2011; and Spies Tax Service located at 301 South Main Street on September 10, 2011.

Gunn pleaded guilty in October to two felony counts of damaging a property receiving federal financial assistance and two felony counts of damaging or destroying a building used interstate commerce.
