Warrenton, MO (KSDK) - A rural Warren County man will have his case on involuntary manslaughter and driving while intoxicated charges heard in Montgomery County.

That's because 21 year old Matthew Menke requested, and was granted, a change of venue to move the case against him out of Warren County.

Menke will now appear in court January 9, 2012 for the case to move forward.

Prosecutors charged Menke following an August 17, 2012 incident in which investigators say he and his girlfriend got into an argument while the couple were in a vehicle.

Menke is accused of taking the car keys and trying to drive off while his girlfriend, 21 year old Amanda Digirolamo was attempting to stop Menke by hanging onto the hood of the vehicle.

The woman eventually lost her grip and fell from the moving car, with Menke driving over the victim.  Gigirolamo died of her injuries at a St. Louis hospital.
