MADISON COUNTY, Ill. (KSDK) - Charges have been filed against two Alton, Ill. men for residential burglary.
The Madison County Sheriff's Department says they received a call just before 7 p.m. March 15 about a suspicious vehicle near Fairmont Avenue and Logan Street in Alton.
Deputies found the suspicious vehicle and stopped it on a traffic offense.
Joshua S. Shelton, 21, was driving the vehicle and was arrested for driving with a suspended license.
Shelton's car was searched, and deputies say they recovered several pieces of jewelry, U.S. silver dollar coins, and a foreign coin. A prescription pill bottle was found on Shelton, and prescribed to someone who lives on Callahan Drive.
Deputies went to the home on Callahan Drive and determined it had been burglarized.
Shelton and his passenger, Adam T. Tilton, 22, were taken into custody.
Bond is set at $60,000 for each.
Shelton was also charged with traffic citations.
