EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KSDK) - Two former hospital employees have been sentenced for identity theft.
Susan L. Harris, 28, of Marissa, Ill. and Ashley C. Drummond, 25, of East St. Louis, Ill. have been sentenced for aggravated identity theft and conspiracy to commit mail fraud.
Harris was convicted in a two-day trial in December 2012. She was sentenced Monday to four years in prison, three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay $7,648.97 in restitution.
Drummond pleaded guilty in November 2012 and was previously sentenced to two years in prison, three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay $8,675.27 in restitution.
Court documents state Harris and Drummond stole identifying information from elderly patients at a southern Illinois hospital.
The pair opened credit card accounts in the victims' names.
