Brian Schissler charged with Salvation Army burglary

BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KSDK) - The St. Clair County State's Attorney's Office charged a Belleville man Friday for the burglary of the Salvation Army Family Store.

The burglary occurred Thursday, April 4 at the store, located at 218 North Illinois Street. The burglar took a DVD player, DVDs, video games and other electronics.

According to the Salvation Army, the proceeds from store sales fund the Salvation Army's adult rehab center, which provides help to men 18 to 65 years old as they struggle to overcome addiction and other social problems.

The suspect, Brian Schissler, was charged with one count of burglary. He remains jailed on $75,000 bond.
