ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KSDK) - A St. Charles grand jury indicted a man previously accused of choking his girlfriend's baby to death because the child would not stop crying.
St. Charles police officers responded to a report of an unresponsive four-month-old child in the 3600 block of Fremont Drive on December 3, 2012. The child was flown to an area hospital for treatment where she died.
An autopsy on December 5 revealed the child died from asphyxiation.
Authorities interviewed Jordan Prince, who was watching the infant while the baby's mother slept. Prosecutors said Prince told police he became frustrated because the baby would not stop crying, choked the child and then left her on a loveseat. Prince came back an hour later and found the child unresponsive.
Jordan Prince was charged with first-degree murder in December. Friday's grand jury indictment charges Prince with forcible sodomy and child abuse.
