Two St. Louis areas among 'most dangerous'

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Two St. Louis areas are being singled out as some of the most dangerous in America.

The area bordered by N. Kingshighway Boulevard on the west, Page Boulevard on the north, N. Taylor Avenue on the east, and Delmar Boulevard on the south tied an area of Chicago for 12th place. This area is comprised of parts of the Fountain Park and Lewis Place neighborhoods.

A second area, bordered by N. 18th Street on the west, Cass Avenue on the north, the Mississippi River on the east is ranked 22nd. The south side of this area is bordered by Dr. Martin Luther King Drive between N. 18th Street and N. Tucker Boulevard, and Carr Street between N. Tucker Boulevard and the Mississippi River. This area is made up of parts of the Carr Square, Columbus Square, Downtown West, and Near North Riverfront neighborhoods.

The website used FBI crime data to compile the rankings.

Three Detroit, Mich., neighborhoods topped the list.
