CLAYTON, Mo (KSDK) - A guilty plea from a woman accused of putting her infant son under a tree in Ellisville in 2012, after giving birth to the child in the basement of boyfriend's home.

Kaitlin Norton, 21, pleaded guilty to a felony charge of child endangerment before St. Louis County Circuit Judge Michael Burton and will face sentencing in July.

Norton was arrested several days after the baby was found outside a home on Westridge Parc Lane by a woman who found a bundle in a blanket and though it might be an abandoned litter of puppies.

Once the woman unwrapped the blanket, she found the baby inside and called police.  The child's current status was not available.

Norton turned herself into authorities after she was treated at a hospital following the birth.
