ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The Humane Society of Missouri Animal Cruelty Task Force is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the beating death of a kitten in north St. Louis.
The task force received a call Aug. 1 about a dead kitten in the front yard of a home near the intersection of Newby and Riverview. A homeowner said she had been feeding the stray cat and came home that day to find it in a pool of blood on her sidewalk in front of her home.
A rock was located nearby, and is believed to have been used to beat the kitten in the head.
Veterinarians at the Humane Society say the male kitten was around eight-weeks-old.
Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call the Human Society of Missouri Animal Cruelty Hotline at 314-647-4400. A $1,000 reward is offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
