SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WSHM/CNN) - Massachusetts authorities are looking into whether former NFL star Aaron Hernandez could be connected with the murders of two men outside a Boston bar.
Investigators say they found a gun linked to those killings inside a car driven by Jailene Diaz-Ramos when officers say she crashed in Springfield in June.
State police say the .38-caliber Smith and Wesson revolver is allegedly linked to Hernandez.
After sending the weapon for ballistics testing, state police confirmed the gun was used in the murders outside the bar last year.
Authorities say it's unclear why Diaz-Ramos had the gun. She was arrested on firearms charges and released on bail.
Hernandez is already facing murder charges in the shooting death of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd.
Police say they are still searching for the gun used in that case.
