ST. LOUIS (KSDK) -A 22 year old St. Louis man has been charged with first degree murder for the July 10 drive-by shooting death of 9-year-old Tyrese Short.
Marquan Bland has been charged with first degree murder, three counts of first degree assault, four counts of armed criminal action, shooting from a moving vehicle and first degree tampering. He has been previously charged with second degree burglary and resisting arrest, and has pending cases in the city of St. Louis for unlawful possession of a firearm.
At approximately 3:30 a.m. on July 10, police say Bland was driving a Ford 500 with three other passengers. He was involved in a high speed pursuit of a car with four passengers, including Short. Poliec say Brand fired multiple shots at the car, ultimately hitting Short in the back of the head. It happened on Goodfellow Boulevard near Laura in north St. Louis.
