School, work violence prevention training from SLMPD

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department will offer two workplace and school violence prevention training sessions in February.

St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson says the goal is to teach identification and violence prevention tactics as well as how to deal with an active shooter situation.

The sessions will be held at Ameren Corporation Headquarters at 1901 Chouteau Ave. in St. Louis.

The first session will be from 8 a.m. to noon and will be reserved for business owners and their employees.

The second session from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. will be specifically for school administrators and their employees.

The training is free but attendees must register in advance by e-mailing Employment verification and photo identification will also be required.
